the now competitive American Dream
My American Dream is to make my kids life better than my parents made mine. I think everyone can agree with this, but I feel like sometimes this gets perceived as shallow by elders. Mom and Dad I don’t mean this rudely; I know I didn’t grow up “uncomfortable” but I think every life has its struggles, rich or poor. I want to be able to surprise my kids with things that they’ve wanted for years. I want to be able to get them a nice phone for their birthday. I want to be able to remember their favorite food, simple things my mom didn’t do. Again this is all with respect, I don’t blame her for anything she was the best mom I she could be. However, I want to take on the challenge to be better that is my AMERICAN DREAM. We should always work to be the best. The reason I don’t say “be the best you can be” is because in this world you’re never only in competition with yourself, that’s just how it is. I want to be the best, you should too, competition makes things fun, competition is a needed AMERICAN DREAM.
